Zafferano Stille di Luna® - Azienda Agricola La Servéga

My name is Valentina Gogna and I am the owner of the young agricultural company ""La Servéga"", exclusive producer of the high quality Safferano Stille di Luna®, located in Piedmont in the province of Alessandria. The history of my company, strictly family-run, was born from recent sprouts and very deep roots. Our Saffron is in fact produced in an uncontaminated valley, the Alta Val Borbera, the land of origin of my family between the Apennines and the Ligurian Sea, a altitude between 700 and 900 meters above sea level. The peculiar pedoclimatic characteristics of these places are sublimated in a production which, annually, obtains first category quality certification, issued by Unimont and the Val.Te.Mo Association of Edolo (BS). 
All' exceptionality of the places of production is associated with strictly manual processing in every phase, which starts from the selection of the best bulbs for planting, proceeds during the harvest, carried out at the first light of dawn, and ends in our Own laboratory, recently renovated and equipped with a professional dryer at calibrated temperature (40°C). It is precisely in the laboratory that the most crucial moment of our production takes place, which sees us totally involved in the processing: we allocate only the most valuable part of the stigmas to drying, obtaining a Saffron with a Super Negin cut, according to the Iranian classification. Our current annual production (2023) is around 1.5 kg of final product. We then associate Saffron with other products that combine with our spice in an almost alchemical way: the delight of acacia honey, produced by bees raised in the mountain area, and the Timorasso grappa, created exclusively for us by the Gualco Distillery of Silvano d'Orba (AL) - these products are aimed at creating a valorising union between our company and our Territory. And the latter is a fundamental part of our mission: to offer products of exceptional quality, but also to give value to a semi-unknown territory, in which ""there is nothing"" but which hides within itself a richness incomparable.
