GAITA LAB

Gaita Lab was born in Turin in 2022 from the passion and creativity of Laura Giraldo, an industrial and management engineer, curious mother, artisan at heart and lover of nature, travel and introspection. Originally from Bogotá, Colombia, a land rich in colours, craftsmanship and contrasts, Laura has always found inspiration in the traditional markets, colonial alleys and stories told in the squares of her city. After moving to Italy in 2010 to complete her master's degree and having worked for over seven years in a multinational company, Laura decided to dedicate herself to her love for craftsmanship, founding Gaita Lab. The project was born as a creative space for sharing, where to find unique pieces of contemporary and sustainable craftsmanship for interior decoration, greenery and lifestyle, with limited collections that combine traditional techniques and innovative materials. Gaita Lab's collections stand out for the use of sustainable raw materials, skilfully crafted to create objects that enrich environments with simplicity and originality. The current collection, Paper Dreams, explores innovative materials such as: Cellulose and latex, a material similar to paper and leather, Oeko-Tex certified, washable and suitable for vegan bags and accessories: Plantable paper, handmade from wild plant seeds incorporated, which allows new flowers to sprout after use. Lokta paper, delicate and refined, handmade by Nepalese artisans, contributing to the local economy. Stone paper, water and tear resistant, mainly composed of limestone powder and non-toxic resins. Gaita Lab is committed to offering quality, environmentally friendly products, with ecological packaging and conscious design to minimize environmental impact. The name ""Gaita"" recalls an indigenous Colombian artisanal musical instrument, made of cactus, a symbol of Laura's cultural roots and of the harmony between tradition and modernity that the brand wants to convey.
