TIA JUANNA
Tia Juanna is a small company which, despite being born recently, has origins deeply rooted in time. Founded by Zia Giovanna and her husband Quirico, who as young people began working in the countryside of Buddusò, a small town located about 60 km from Olbia, raising sheep and transforming milk into cheese, following the ancient Sardinian dairy arts.< /p>
In 1970, Zia Giovanna and Quirico moved to Olbia together with their breeding and continued their profession for over 50 years with the help of their children. The cheese was produced in an artisan workshop in the back of their home and left to mature in an adjacent cellar. Once perfect maturation was achieved, a cheese with an authentic, good and genuine taste was obtained, appreciated by anyone: the true Sardinian pecorino. Initially, the cheese was sold to relatives, friends and tourists who learned about it essentially through word of mouth. Over the years, the demand for this cheese became greater and greater, and its fame spread rapidly. During the summer months, tourists flocked to the area in ever greater numbers.
In 2020, after the death of Aunt Giovanna, her children Francesco and Luisella, together with Daniele, her husband, decided to create a project that had been Aunt Giovanna's dream: to create a small company, a mini dairy, with a small shop attached, dedicating her name to it, Tia Juanna. In 2022, the project materializes, and the mini dairy becomes reality.
Tia Juanna is an authentic brand that is committed to preserving and rediscovering the ancient and genuine flavors of the past, processing exclusively milk coming from Sardinian farms kept on wild pastures, strictly respecting the current hygiene and health regulations.
