I Giandoccoli

I Giandoccoli
The idea of ??producing polystyrene objects with hot cut was born a couple of years ago, inspired by the construction for one of our client of a 2D plotter for polystyrene cutting. Since then we have thought about what it would have been possible to propose to the market and to all the processes necessary for the realization of the finished product. Processing starts from creating a design compatible with CAD formats managed by the plotter. After that a 2D hot float plotter proceeds to cut polystyrene plates. After the cut the same are disassembled in the various pieces that compose them. In turn the pieces are first painted in the relative colors and subsequently decorated to airbrush to create shades of color where necessary. The last phase consists in reassembling the individual pieces gluing them on a base (as in the realization of a puzzle). The cut expects to eliminate a portion of the material between one piece and the other thus giving a depth effect to the drawing. At the end of the assembly, for some subjects, there is a manual intervention to the realization of further graphic details. Even all carpentry operations for the construction of the bases are carried out directly in our laboratory.
